I. Architectural Millwork Wood Door and Window Limited Warranty
II. Architectural Millwork Cabinet Lifetime Limited Warranty
I. ARCHITECTURAL MILLWORK WOOD DOOR AND WINDOW LIMITED WARRANTY
This limited warranty applies only to the following Architectural Millwork products: wood doors and windows, and insulated glass. Architectural Millwork makes the following limited warranty for Architectural Millwork products installed within the United States, subject to the stated conditions and limitations.
Limited Warranty—What Architectural Millwork Will Do
Should a door or window sold by Architectural Millwork fail to conform to this written warranty we will at our option either repair or replace the door or window for up to one year after the original purchase date. Doors and windows with insulated glass are warranted against hermetic seal failure. Should there be a failure of the air seal within the warranty period Architectural Millwork will at our option either repair or replace the insulated glass for up to five years after the original purchase date.
In no event will Architectural Millwork pay for the cost of labor, transportation, installation or finishing of the replacement product or original product, or for any other cost relating to the responsibility of the person making the warranty claim.
Glass
The warranty on insulated glass will be voided if the cause of the hermetic seal failure is a result of the cleaning solutions reacting with the sealant, or if lap painting was not applied. In no event is Architectural Millwork responsible for the installation, repainting, refinishing, or other similar activities necessary to complete the replacement or any cost of the resolve. Cracked and broken glass is not covered by this warranty. Variations in lites of handcrafted decorative glass such as color, size, clarity, and welded joints are not defects. There are varying degrees of distortions in tempered glass which may affect view; these are not considered defects. All glass should be cleaned with a solution of mild detergent and water only, as all other solutions could result in damage or seal failure. Metal parts of cleaning equipment should not come into contact with the glass.

Architectural Millwork is not responsible for changes in the California Building Code, California Energy Code, and California High Fire Code that may affect an insulated glass window’s aesthetic appearance. Insulated glass’ features include an insulated glass spacer, insulated glass grills, visible tape, visible grill, and visible air space. These features are not defects; rather, they are necessary and purposeful to meet the updated requirements of the California Building Code, California Energy Code, and California High Fire Code. Insulated glass necessitates two separate pieces of glass, separated by an insulated glass spacer and insulated glass grills, with air space between. This air space is required for insulation. Visual distortion may occur due to the air space requirements in the grid to prevent the transfer of heat and maintain the rated U-Values and Solar Heat Gain Coefficients. This distortion is the result of the refraction of light through several layers of media and is not considered a defect. Insulated glass windows can include a simulated divided lite whereby the wood piece is taped onto the glass using visible tape, creating the look of separate glass panels. Due to the nature of the glass panel, the appearance of internal muntin bars in insulated glass can vary. This appearance entails qualities such as color, transmittance, reflectivity, thickness, etc. Architectural Millwork cannot be held responsible for the customer’s approval, or lack thereof, of the aesthetic appearance of insulated glass.

Limitations and Exclusions – What Is Not Covered In This Warranty
Wood is a hygroscopic material, in that it will react to moisture. Wood will move and adjust to the environment in which it is placed. When moisture is increased the wood will expand. When the ambient moisture is reduced the wood will shrink. This is normal and beyond the scope of the warranty.
Over the course of the seasons you may notice the wood expanding or contracting (i.e. gaps between the doors, or the panels within a door or drawer). This is the normal movement of the wood. In severe cases the wood may warp or split. This is Mother Nature trying to find equilibrium and is not a defect covered by this warranty.
Dark finishes intensify heating, which can cause shrinking, swelling, warping, and/or pitch weep. These effects are not an indication of failure and are not covered under this warranty.
The following are not considered defects in material or workmanship, and are not covered in this warranty:

-
Warp less than 1/4” per 7’/0” height in the plane of the door itself
-
Bow or nonalignment in the frame or jamb in which the door is hung
-
Variations or unsatisfactory results in gloss level, texture or appearance resulting from the field application of paint or any other finishing material
-
Damage caused by others or by any cause beyond the control of Architectural Millwork, including but not limited to damage caused by misuse, abuse, accident, mishandling or by fire or other acts of nature
-
Ultraviolet damage to finish
-
Effects from failure to provide normal maintenance or proper and responsible protection
-
Attempts to repair a door or window made by anyone other than Architectural Millwork
-
Surface grain separation or “checking” of Douglas Fir

-
Shrinking, swelling, or warping of exterior doors and windows with dark finishes

-
Pitch weep from exterior doors and windows with dark finishes

-
Panel misalignment or shrinkage
-
Natural variations in color
-
Normal wear and ageing
